Common use of Local Transportation Clause in Contracts

Local Transportation. No daily travel allowance shall be payable to any local resident Employee on any project located inside the Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley. A daily travel allowance, pursuant to the following schedule, shall be paid to any local resident Employee who uses his/her own vehicle to travel daily from his/her residence to a project located outside of the Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley. A local resident shall be defined as any Employee who resides within one hundred (100) road kilometres of the project or, where ferry travel is involved, within seventy-five (75) minutes travel time, including ferry travel and road kilometres. > First forty (40) road kilometres, each way, each day not applicable > All additional road kilometres, each way, each day: > 2016 Fifty-four cents ($0.54) per road kilometer > 2017 Fifty-four cents ($0.54) per road kilometer > 2018 As per Canada Revenue Agency The "per road kilometre" amount payable is subject to annual adjustments throughout the duration of the Agreement. More specifically, the maximum allowable tax-free rate for mileage expense reimbursement as published annually by the Canada Revenue Agency shall be paid.
