Interpretation of Contract Documents (Design Clarification/Verification Request. Consultant will assist the City field staff with the review of the contractor’s requests for information, clarification, and interpretation of the contract documents; review such requests with the design team and the City as appropriate, and provide written response. Consultant will log and track contractor’s requests for interpretation and provide timely response. The consultant’s office support staff will consult with the Engineer of Record and the City to disapprove or reject work which the Consultant believes to be deficient and nonconforming to the requirements for the contract documents. The Consultant will coordinate with the contractor and the City for the correction, acceptance, or other resolution of the work. The budget assumes 20 total RFI’s/Clarifications requiring 3 hours effort apiece plus senior review effort. Deliverables RFI responses.

  • Suspension of unsafe Construction Works (i) Upon recommendation of the Authority’s Engineer to this effect, the Authority may by notice require the Contractor to suspend forthwith the whole or any part of the Works if, in the reasonable opinion of the Authority’s Engineer, such work threatens the safety of the Users and pedestrians.
