Health and Welfare Benefits While on Unpaid Leave of Absence. The Employer will continue to pay its share of the applicable health and welfare benefits for a maximum of twenty (20) work days in any calendar year. For any leave of absence or accumulation of leaves of absence in excess of twenty (20) work shifts in any calendar year, (except in the case of Pregnancy Leave, Parental leave, Adoption Leave, Compassionate Care Leave, Leave Respecting Disappearance of Child, Leave Respecting Death of Child and Jury Duty, consistent with the Employment Standards Act, and WCB leave, in which benefits continues as if at work) benefit coverage may be continued by the employee provided the employee pays, in advance, the monthly cost of all the benefit premiums to the Employer in accordance with the procedures established by the Employer.
