Common use of FARES AND TRAVEL Clause in Contracts

FARES AND TRAVEL. The parties recognise that there is a need for more flexible travel provisions for projects located outside the Counties of Cumberland, Northumberland, Camden and radial boundary areas. In an effort to acquire projects outside of these boundary areas and utilise the diverse living locations of Company Employees, who reside close to a county boundary, the parties agree that Employees may be required to travel to projects located outside the boundaries (as stated above) up to 50 kms from their place of residence without incurring excess fares and travelling allowances. This provision does not negate the daily allowance in clause 14.1 of this Agreement. Employees who are provided with a Company vehicle shall not be entitled to a payment of the daily fares allowance. Use of Company provided vehicle is deemed to be a privilege and the driver of the vehicle shall pay fines for parking infringements, and for any other traffic offence, at the time the offence occurs. Company vehicles are to be maintained in good condition and treated with respect and all care is to be taken by the driver. These allowances will not apply to Employees who reside in the local region where the Employee is locally engaged on the Company’s project but maintains a separate place of residence from that recorded on the Employees job application form. Payment of the Daily Fares allowance shall not be made for a rostered day off.
