Common use of Family Responsibility Leave Clause in Contracts

Family Responsibility Leave. In the event of an illness or injury occurring to an employee’s spouse, parent or child the employee may request, and if so, shall be granted a leave of absence or absences which shall not exceed five (5) days of unpaid leave in total per calendar year. The purpose of this leave shall be to enable the employee to attend to the needs of their ailing spouse, parent or child.

In the event of an illness or injury occurring to an employee or an employee’s spouse, parent parent, or child child, the employee may requestbe granted, and if so, shall be granted a leave of absence or absences which shall not exceed five up to three (53) unpaid days leave each year, but only to the extent that the leave is necessary. Said days may be paid out of unpaid leave in total per calendar year. The purpose of this leave shall be to enable an employee’s sick pay accrual, if the employee to attend to has any banked sick time at the needs time of their ailing spouse, parent or childthe family responsibility leave of absence upon request.
