Common use of Employment Guidelines Clause in Contracts

Employment Guidelines. ‌ NEC is committed to the requirements contained under the BC Human Rights Code to ensure that everyone is equal in employment rights regardless of race, colour, ancestry, place of origin, political belief, religion, marital status, family status, physical or mental disability, sex, sexual orientation or age of that person or that group or class of persons. Notwithstanding the above, NEC reserves the right to utilize, at its discretion in appropriate circumstances, the exemption contained in Section 41 of the BC Human Rights Code which allows NEC, operating as a non-profit educational facility, the ability to grant a preference of employment to Aboriginal people.
