The Duty-Free Lunch Period clause establishes an employee's right to take a designated lunch break during their work shift without being required to perform any job-related duties. Typically, this means that employees are relieved of all work responsibilities for a set period, such as 30 or 60 minutes, and are not expected to answer calls, attend meetings, or perform tasks during this time. The core function of this clause is to ensure employees have uninterrupted personal time to rest and eat, promoting well-being and compliance with labor regulations regarding meal breaks.
