Common use of Employer Directed Development Clause in Contracts

Employer Directed Development. Where the employer requires an employee to take a specified course, the employer will pay the cost and associated expenses of the course. When an employee requires time off to attend a course, the employer will provide time off with pay. Where required classes are taken outside an employee’s normal working hours, an equivalent number of hours off work will be provided. Employer Directed Development shall pertain to but not be limited to employee’s who are required to upgrade the knowledge, skills and abilities requirements as stated on the current job description for that position.
