Emergency Closing Days. Whenever a school is closed by order of the Superintendent for causes beyond the control of the board and such order is relayed to local news media less than one (1) hour prior to the time the teacher is required to be on duty, such day shall be counted as one of the duty days for any affected teacher or the Board may elect to pay such teacher(s) one-half (½) of one day's salary in lieu thereof and no service shall be required by the teacher on such day. The Association president shall be contacted to verify the official time of notification.
