Common use of Department Policy Clause in Contracts

Department Policy. The Chief of Police shall execute a policy that, insofar as is possible, will provide fair distribution of overtime among members of the bargaining unit, ranks, shifts, and/or classifications. Such policy shall govern overtime procedures and shall be considered a function of management to administer, alter or modify. The Employer agrees that both the original policy, and any change in policy during the course of this Agreement, will only occur after input is received from the Union via the Joint Labor Management Committee. Subject to such policy, and insofar as practicable, a bargaining unit member shall be on duty at all times.
