Common use of Charge Nurse Premium Clause in Contracts

Charge Nurse Premium. The parties agree that charge nurse responsibilities are assigned to only one (1) nurse on a shift on a unit. Therefore, there will be no overlapping of charge pay. The Charge Nurse premium shall be Two Dollars ($2.00) per hour which shall not be included in a nurse’s regular rate of pay. However, nurses who hold charge nurse positions that were obtained through the posting process (Regular Charge nurses), shall receive the charge nurse premium for paid leave hours but not while working in a non-charge capacity. A Staff Nurse assigned the responsibilities of the Charge Nurse position shall be compensated at the Charge Nurse rate of pay during the period of assignment.
