Change Order – Decrease in Scope or Cost Sample Clauses

The Change Order – Decrease in Scope or Cost clause allows for formal modifications to a contract that reduce the amount of work to be performed or lower the overall project cost. In practice, this clause is used when the parties agree to remove certain tasks, materials, or services from the original agreement, resulting in a corresponding adjustment to the contract price and schedule. Its core function is to provide a clear, documented process for handling reductions in project scope or cost, ensuring both parties are aligned and minimizing disputes over contract changes.
