California Energy Commission. The CEC is the State’s primary energy policy and planning agency. Created by the Legislature in 1974, the CEC’s responsibilities include: • Forecasting future energy needs and maintaining historical energy data; • Certifying thermal power plants 50 MW or larger; • Transmission planning and transmission corridor designation; and • Supporting the development of renewable energy. Pursuant to Section 25500 of the Public Resources Code, the CEC has the exclusive power to certify all sites and related facilities for power plants within its jurisdiction. During the planning process for the DRECP, the CEC will, among other things: • Attend all relevant REAT operational meetings and all REAT managers’ meetings; • Attend meetings with local partners and agencies, presenting information as necessary; and • Collaborate with the Parties, as well as other public agencies such as the California Natural Resources Agency, in the development of the DRECP.

  • Energy Conservation The Contractor agrees to comply with mandatory standards and policies relating to energy efficiency which are contained in the state energy conservation plan issued in compliance with the Energy Policy and Conservation Act.
