Are Personnel Records private?. Personnel Records are records kept by the District that may affect or be used relative to that employee's qualifications for employment, promotion, transfer, compensation, attendance or disciplinary action. It is the policy of the District to maintain the privacy of Personnel Records. District employees are permitted to view their own records under certain circumstances, as outlined below. Other District employees are permitted access to these records only where necessary to perform their job. Vendors are permitted access to these records when the information is required to provide services to the employee or District. When protected Employee Information must be transmitted to a vendor providing services to the employee or District, the District shall require that the transmission be by the most secure method practical under the circumstances, and that the vendor keep the information strictly confidential.
