Approval Procedure for Subprojects. 17. Subproject appraisal, approval and monitoring will follow the requirements set out in Appendix 1 of this Schedule, that presents schematic representation of appraisal, approval and monitoring of subprojects. Subproject review and sanction will be a two stage process.  Stage 1 - After the initial screening, the subproject will be put up before the Project Sanctioning and Monitoring Group (PSMG) to seek in principle approval taking into account (assessment criteria for selection of eligible sub-borrowers (see section A of this Schedule), (ii) basic financial analyses, and (iii) social and environment subproject categorization. At this stage, PSMG will also consider any subproject development assistance if necessary.  Stage 2 - On completion of detailed subproject reports (DPR) and the requirements as per the subproject selection criteria, the subprojects are posed to PSMG for approval and assistance.
