Appeal to Ad Hoc Committee. The appeal to the Ad Hoc Committee shall be in writing and it shall set forth the reasons for the appeal and include a copy of the Head of School’s determination. The appeal shall also identify the grievant’s Union representative who will participate in the appeal. Within ten (10) school days after receiving the appeal the Ad Hoc Committee shall meet with the grievant(s), the Union Chapter Leader (or designee), the Union representative in the appeal and the Head of School to hear and resolve the grievance. Within five (5) school days after concluding its hearing, the Ad Hoc Committee shall communicate its written determination with supporting reasons to the Chapter Leader (or designee), the Union representative, the Head of School (or designee) and the grievant(s) who participated in the appeal.. Each Ad Hoc Committee member shall either concur in or dissent from the determination, in writing. At least two Ad Hoc Committee members must support the determination for it to be deemed to be the School’s determination of the grievance at this step.
