Slamming definition

Slamming means the unauthorized enrollment of a customer without the customer’s permission or the unauthorized transfer of a customer to another Electric Supplier.
Slamming means the designation of a new provider of a telecommunications service to a customer, including the initial selection of a service provider, without the verified consent of the customer. “Slamming” does not include the designation of a new provider of a telecommunications service to a customer made pursuant to the sale or transfer of another carrier’s customer base, provided that the designation meets the requirements of 199 IAC 22.23(2)“e.”
Slamming means the act of changing the Customer’s chosen AES, or changing the Customer from Full Requirements Service to Generation Service from an AES, without the Customer’s consent.

Examples of Slamming in a sentence

  • Slamming (unauthorized switching) and cramming (unauthorized provision of additional service not requested by the customer) constitute serious offenses that may result in revocation of supplier license and/or other penalties.

Slamming means where a request for CPS, WLR and/or LLU has been made without the Customer’s express knowledge and/or consent; that is in the following circumstances:
Slamming means the act of changing the Member-Consumer’s chosen AES, or changing the Member-Consumer from Full Requirements Service to Generation Service from an AES, without the Member-Consumer’s consent.

Slamming. Just Energy debe obtener su autorización verificable antes de cambiar su servicio de electricidad. Slamming. A REP must obtain your verifiable authorization before switching your electric service. If you believe your electric service has been switched without your authorization, you should request that the REP provide you with a copy of your authorization and verification. The REP must submit this to you within 5 business days of your request. If you are not satisfied with this response, you may also file a complaint with the PUC at the address provided below. Upon receipt of a complaint filed with the PUC, the REP must respond within 21 days of receipt of the complaint, providing all documentation relied upon by the REP related to the authorization to switch, and any corrective actions taken to date, if any. If a REP is serving your account without proper authorization, they must work with other market participants to take all actions necessary to return you to your original REP as quickly as possible.
