Maternity hospital definition

Maternity hospital means a health facility planned, operated, and maintained to offer medical and nursing facilities, beds, and services over a continuous period exceeding 24 hours to women requiring care before, during, and recovery from obstetric delivery. Provision shall be made, by agreement with a General Hospital, or within the facility, for a clinical laboratory, diagnostic X-ray, treatment facilities for emergency, surgery, and definitive medical treatment under an organized medical staff.
