Dependent Indian communities definition

Dependent Indian communities means and refers to a limited category of Indian lands that are neither reservations nor allotments, and that satisfy the following two requirements:

  • Indigenous Peoples Plan or “IPP” means any of the plans prepared and carried out following the requirements of the Indigenous Peoples Planning Framework.

  • Welfare means that language referring to effects on welfare includes, but is not limited to, effects on soils, water, crops, vegetation, man-made materials, animals, wildlife, weather, visibility and climate, damage to and deterioration of property, and hazards to transportation, as well as effects on economic values and on personal comfort and well-being.

  • Medical benefit plan means a plan established and maintained by a carrier, a voluntary employees' beneficiary association described in section 501(c)(9) of the internal revenue code of 1986, 26 USC 501, or by 1 or more public employers, that provides for the payment of medical benefits, including, but not limited to, hospital and physician services, prescription drugs, and related benefits, for public employees or elected public officials. Medical benefit plan does not include benefits provided to individuals retired from a public employer or a public employer's contributions to a fund used for the sole purpose of funding health care benefits that are available to a public employee or an elected public official only upon retirement or separation from service.

  • Dependents means dependents as defined in the Internal Revenue Code and as claimed in the taxpayer's federal income tax return for the taxable year or which the taxpayer would have been permitted to claim had the taxpayer filed a federal income tax return.

  • Black People is a generic term which means Africans, Coloureds and Indians;

  • Health care plan means any contract, policy or other arrangement for benefits or services for medical or dental care or treatment under:
