A vacancy in a Department Head position may be filled by transfer pursuant to (l) below or promotion pursuant to (2) below.
If an employee of the County promotes from classified service to an Appointed Department Head position, and there is no break in service by so doing, the employee may opt to have their accrued vacation leave balance on record transfer with the employee into the Appointed Department Head position.
