Coal Gas definition

Coal Gas means occluded methane gas and all associated natural gas and other hydrocarbons of whatever quality or quantity, whether known or unknown, that are, can be, or historically have been produced or emitted from coalbeds, coal formations, coal seams, mined out areas, gob areas, or any related, associated, or adjacent rock material or strata, together with all substances produced with each of the foregoing or refined therefrom. For the avoidance of doubt, the term “Coal Gas” shall expressly include all substances commonly known as “coalbed methane,” “coal mine methane,” and “gob gas.”

Coal Gas means a hydrocarbon of which the primary component is methane which exits in a gaseous state and is found in coal seams.

Related to Coal Gas

  • Coal means non-coking as well as coking coal, produced domestically and categorized into different classes, grades and sizes, as per the notification/order issued for such purpose by Government of India(GoI)/CIL/ Seller; and shall where the context so requires, include Imported Coal.

  • Coal mine means an area of land and all structures, facilities, machinery, tools, equipment, shafts, slopes, tunnels, excavations, and other property, real or personal, placed upon, under, or above the surface of such land by any person and used in, to be used in, or resulting from the work of extracting in such bituminous coal, lignite, or anthracite from its natural deposits in the earth by any means or method, including the work of preparing the coal so extracted, and such term includes custom coal preparation facilities.

  • Feedstock Gas means natural gas used as a raw material for its chemical properties in creating an end product.

  • Fuel Gas means Gas used as fuel for the operation of the Transportation System.
