The Selective Review Committee will be comprised of at least two faculty members from the CMHC Program, including the student’s appointed advisor.
Due to the nature of these behaviors, the CMHC Program Committee need to be informed of any potential issues as soon as possible.Once a concern is identified, an FTP remediation plan must be initiated at the earliest possible time (See “FTP Remediation Plan Process” below).
Within 48 hours of obtaining written documentation of the incident/concerns, the Program Coordinator or CMHC Program Committee faculty member will schedule a time for the selective Review Committee AND the student to meet.
Faculty member will be responsible for providing a final copy of the FTPRP form to the CMHC Program Coordinator.
CMHC Program faculty understand that there are circumstances that may require that students obtain more than one site per semester in order to gain the type of experience desired and number of hours required to complete the advanced practicum or internship.
The committee may consult with other CEP faculty members, supervisors, NMSU legal counsel, and/or the American Counseling Association (ACA) regarding the development of alternative remedial actions and/or the student’s fitness to remain in the CMHC Program.
Any discrepancies between these resources should be discussed with the CMHC Program Director or the CMHC Program Administrator.There are many forms that are referred to throughout the handbook.
The CMHC Program Administrator, who collects the Student Evaluations after each semester and monitors the pattern of evaluations for all students, makes the referral to the SRC.

Regular Student EvaluationsAt the end of the fall and spring semesters, the CMHC Program Director holds a meeting with CMHC course instructors whereby students’ professional competence and areas of strength and growth are discussed.
