Authorized Medical Attendant (AMA means- (i) the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of the Institute; (ii) the Medical Officer (MO) of the Institute;(iii) the Medical Officer appointed at any campus of the Institute; (iv) the Chief Medical Officer or a Medical Officer of any Government Hospital/ Health Centre/ Dispensary in whose jurisdiction/ vicinity the employee falls ill; (v) the Medical Officer of any Hospital/ Medical College/ Institute recognized by the Institute, for such purpose or where the employee is admitted under emergency due to an accident or otherwise. (2) “Medical Attendance” means in relation to an AMA-(i) attendance in his/her consulting room or the hospital to which he/she is attached or at the residence of the employee, including such pathological, bacteriological, radiological or other methods of examination for the purpose of diagnosis as are available in the hospital or consulting room or as are considered necessary by the AMA and such consultation with a specialist or other MO as the AMA certifies to be necessary to such extent and in such manner as the specialist or the MO may, in consultation with AMA, determine; and (ii) attendance at a hospital or in the case of illness which compels the patient to be confined to his/her residence or any other place of stay, at the place of stay of the employee, including such methods of examination for the purpose of diagnosis as are available in the nearby recognizedhospital and such consultation with a
