Climate Xxxxx Power Station is situated in a summer rainfall area with an average annual precipitation of about 750 mm falling almost entirely during the months of October to April. The average rainfall per month generally exceeds 40 mm during this period, although drought periods do occur which can last for 20 days or longer. Drought periods occur most frequently during the months of October/November and March/April. January is statistically the highest rainfall month with an average monthly rainfall of about 130 mm. June has the lowest rainfall with an average monthly rainfall of about 7 mm. Approximately 85% of the annual rainfall occurs in the summer months and heavy falls of 125 to 150 mm occasionally occur in a single day. The annual average number of thunderstorms is about 75. These storms are often violent with severe lightning and strong (but short-lived) gusty winds and are sometimes accompanied by hail. This region has among the highest hail frequencies in South Africa; about 4 to 7 occurrences (depending mainly on altitude) may be expected annually. January is normally the hottest month with an average daily maximum temperature of 27°C with a mean daily temperature in winter being about 16°C. Winter average daily temperatures vary from 18, 5°C maximum to -1°C minimum. The extreme temperatures recorded range from 34, 7°C to minus 12, 4°C for the period 1920 - 1984. Generally the prevailing wind directions are from the North West during the day and from the east at night. During daytime, the prevailing winds are from the north-western direction. During night-time, the prevailing winds are from the north-eastern direction. The highest recorded average wind speed is 17, 6 km/hour. The average wind velocity over the year is 14, 5 km/hour.
Surface Grade and shape the road surface, turnouts, and shoulders to the original shape on the TYPICAL SECTION SHEET. Inslope or outslope as directed to provide a smooth, rut-free traveled surface and maintain surface water runoff in an even, unconcentrated manner. Blading shall not undercut the backslope or cut into geotextile fabric on the road. If required by the Contract Administrator, water shall be applied as necessary to control dust and retain fine surface rock. Surface material shall not be bladed off the roadway. Replace surface material when lost or worn away, or as directed by the Contract Administrator. Remove shoulder berms, created by grading, to facilitate drainage, except as marked or directed by the Contract Administrator. For roads with geotextile fabric: spread surface aggregate to fill in soft spots and wheel ruts (barrel spread) to prevent damage to the geotextile fabric.
Wet Weather In the event of wet weather, work in the open will continue until the particular work in hand can no longer be done safely and efficiently. Whilst it is raining, employees will be required to: Continue to work under cover or relocate to alternative work under cover, on site. Obtain materials and services for employees working under cover where there is only minimal exposure to inclement weather. When required, perform emergency and safety work. In addition, work on unexpected breakdowns, which can be corrected in limited time duration. Should a portion of the project be affected by wet weather, all other employees not so affected shall continue working in accordance with award conditions, regardless that some employees may be entitled to cease work due to wet weather. If a halt to productive work occurs due to inclement weather, the parties agree that employees may be relocated to other unaffected sites. Where the above steps are not possible, affected employees may be required to attend tool box meetings, work planning sessions or skills development activities, all of which will count as productive time for payment purposes.
Telework Members are eligible for teleworking during the professional work days designated for grading and reporting at the end of the first, second and third grading periods, and on the day of the Maryland State Education Association Convention if that day is a duty day for teachers.
Switching All of the negotiated rates, terms and conditions set forth in this Section pertain to the provision of local and tandem switching.
GLASS The Tenant shall maintain the glass part of the demised premises, promptly replacing any breakage and fully saving the Landlord harmless from any loss, cost or damage resulting from such breakage or the replacement thereof.
Hardware IF HARDWARE IS IDENTIFIED ON A TRANSACTION DOCUMENT, THE SALE AND USE OF THE HARDWARE WILL BE GOVERNED BY TERMS OTHER THAN THIS XXXX. OT DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES AND LIABILITY WITH RESPECT TO THE HARDWARE.
Landings After landings have served Purchaser’s purpose, Purchaser shall ditch and slope them to permit water to drain or spread. Unless agreed otherwise, cut and fill banks around landings shall be sloped to remove overhangs and otherwise minimize ero- sion.
Glazing All new and replacement exterior windows shall have sealed, low emmissivity, insulating glass units which are manufactured by members of SIGMA and IGCC. Sealed insulating glass shall meet ASTM E774, class B. Glass shall be hermetically dual sealed, inert gas filled, double pane units with exterior 3/16” bronze float glass (IoE second surface), ½” air space, and interior 3/16” clear float glass. Insulated panels, if used, shall be 1” laminated panels equal to Xxxxx Industries architectural panels with a porcelain fused-on finish. Wired or clear fire-rated glass shall be UL approved. Safety glass shall be tempered or laminated, and shall meet ANSI 297.1 standard.
