Paraprofessional - In regard to paraprofessionals, the District acknowledges that while a paraprofessional assists the teacher, the responsibility for final academic assessment remains with the teacher. The position of Clerk/Paraprofessional is recognized to include those persons who perform clerical functions but not to the same level as that expected of a secretary. The relationship between a secretary and a clerk is like that between an assistant engineer and a custodian. Transfer between Paraprofessional groups is subject to qualification.
