Use of Other Paid Leave While on FMLA Leave. The Employer may require an employee taking a leave pursuant to subparagraph “a(1)” to exhaust all accrued paid sick leave prior to an unpaid leave of absence. An employee taking leave pursuant to subparagraph “a(2)”, “(3)” and “(4)” may be required to exhaust all accrued paid leave, excluding sick leave, prior to an unpaid leave of absence. All other articles and sections of this collective bargaining agreement shall be applicable and coordinated with the Family and Medical Leave Act. Each party has the right to exercise its rights under the FMLA except as modified under “(b)” above.

  • Use of Sick Leave a. An employee, other than a casual employee, with responsibilities in relation to a class of person set out in subparagraph (ii) of paragraph (c) of this sub-clause, who needs the employee’s care and support shall be entitled to use, in accordance with this sub-clause, any current or accrued sick leave entitlements provided for in clause 18 of the award, sick leave, for absences to provide care and support for such persons when they are ill. Such leave may be taken for part of a single day.

  • Return from Leave of Absence (a) Before a Nurse may return to work from a leave granted under Article 9.00, she or he must provide a minimum of four (4) weeks written notice of the specific date of his or her return to work, or such shorter time as mutually agreed.
