Common use of Union Leaves of Absence Clause in Contracts

Union Leaves of Absence. (a) One (1) employee who may be elected or appointed to a full time position with the Union, upon proper notice to be agreed upon by the parties of this Agreement, shall be granted a leave of absence, without pay, not to exceed the life of this Agreement. Upon one (1) week's notice of his or her desire to again return to work for the Company, he or she shall be placed upon his/her job previously held, or in the event that the job has been eliminated one of equal pay, without loss of seniority, provided he or she is physically fit and capable of performing the work. Leave of absence under this clause will be given in writing by the Company.

Union Leaves of Absence. (a) One (1) employee who may be elected or appointed to a full time position with the Union, upon proper notice to be agreed upon by the parties of this Agreement, shall be granted a leave of absence, without pay, absence not to exceed the life of this Agreementeighteen (18) months, without pay or benefits. Upon one (1) week's weeks’ notice of his or her desire to again return to work for the Company, he or she shall be placed upon returned to a position within his/her job previously heldformer classification and department, or in the event that the job position has been eliminated to one of equal pay, in the same classification without loss of seniority, provided he or she is physically fit and capable of performing the work. Leave of absence under this clause will be given in writing by the Company.
