The purpose of Research. The purpose of this research was to explore the central phenomenon of teacher collaboration in the context of private secondary schools in Sabah, Malaysia. To be specific, I investigated the factors that influence collaboration among secondary school teachers on various school improvement projects. The study explored factors that encourage, motivate and enable teachers to work in collaboration as a team as well as the factors that inhibit such collaboration.
