Likewise, the employee may also request to return to his or her regular, permanent position. When terminating a temporary promotion, the employee will return to his or her regular, permanent position and wage.

Termination of Temporary Promotion. 1. When a temporary promotion of less than one-year ends, the employee will be returned to their former, lower grade. Pay will be set at the employee’s NPR before the temporary promotion plus the dollar amount of any merit increases, calculated based on the pay of the temporary promotion, that were received between the start and the end of the temporary promotion period. The applicable LOC%, as provided in Section 5.C. above, is then applied as provided. However, pay at the lower grade to which the employee returns, as adjusted to include merit pay at the higher grade, shall not exceed the maximum of the range for the lower grade.
