Common use of Strikes, Lockout & Picketing Clause in Contracts

Strikes, Lockout & Picketing. Employees who are lawfully on strike or lawfully locked out, or who, as a matter of conscience, choose not to cross a legal picket line as provided by the Labour Relations Code of British Columbia shall not be subject to disciplinary action by the College. However, such employees shall forfeit their salary and applicable health benefits as per Article 17.2 for the period during which they are absent from duty. Applicable benefits coverage may be continued for a Regular employee provided the Union agrees to remit the full premium costs to the College for such benefits continuation.
