Strategic and Thematic Programme Objectives Sample Clauses

Strategic and Thematic Programme Objectives. On the basis of the above findings and conclusions and stakeholder consultations conducted, RDPP phase II is justified as a programme that addresses the continued and deteriorating conditions experienced by displacement affected populations in Jordan, Lebanon and Northern Iraq with the overall strategic objective of contributing to refugees and host populations living in displacement affected communities access their rights, are safe, self-reliant, and refugees are able to avail themselves of a durable solution. With the lessons learned from phase I, the programme builds on and strengthens existing programme features, i.e. anchoring “programmatic results in the strong relevance of the components, modalities, selection of projects and above all the partners”3. Phase II will consist of three thematic programmes which will address both short- and long-term needs of displacement affected communities, while also establishing an evidence base on which RDPP partners and other actors can build programming and policies for a conducive environment for durable solutions: (a) livelihoods towards durable solutions, (b) upholding and expanding protection space and, (c) applied research and advocacy. By combining research and advocacy into the same thematic area, 3 Xxxxxx (forthcoming): Evaluation of the Regional Development and Protection Programme, Phase I. p44 as opposed to phase I, the link between the research conducted and advocacy efforts has been strengthened. The thematic objectives are summarised below.
