Service Member Family Leave. 17 An eligible unit member who is the spouse, son, daughter, parent, or next of kin of a 18 covered service member shall be entitled to a total of 26 workweeks of leave during a 12-month period to care 19 for the service member with a serious injury or illness; such leave may be taken on an intermittent basis under 20 the same terms and conditions as provided for in this Article. The leave described in this paragraph shall only be 21 available during a single 12-month period.

Service Member Family Leave. 17 An eligible unit employee may be permitted a total of twenty-six (26) work weeks of unpaid leave during a single twelve (12) month period in order to care for a covered service member who with a serious injury or illness if the employee is the spouse, son, daughter, parent, parent or next of kin of a 18 covered the service member shall member. However, during the single twelve (12) month period, when Family and Medical Leave is used for this reason and for one or more of the reasons listed in “B” above, the eligible employee will be entitled to a maximum combined total of 26 workweeks of leave during a 12twenty-month period to care 19 for the service member with a serious injury or illness; such leave may be taken on an intermittent basis under 20 the same terms and conditions as provided for in this Article.
