Common use of Saturday Overtime Clause in Contracts

Saturday Overtime. Time worked on Saturdays before 8.30 a.m. and/or after 12.30 p.m. shall be overtime and paid for at the rate of double time calculated on the employee’s relevant minimum rate in clause 19 – Minimum wages, with a minimum payment for two hours but this minimum is not to be paid where the overtime is worked continuously with the start or completion of ordinary hours.

Time Other than for shift workers, overtime hours worked on Saturdays before 8.30 a.m. and/or after 12.30 p.m. Saturday shall be overtime and paid for at the rate of time and one half ordinary time rates for the first two hours and double time calculated thereafter. Overtime hours worked on the employee’s relevant minimum rate in clause 19 – Minimum wages, with a minimum payment for two hours but this minimum is not to Saturday after 12:00 noon shall be paid where the overtime is worked continuously with the start or completion of at double ordinary hourstime rates.
