Sample pH pH is an important experimental factor affecting the rate of oxidation as shown previously [303, 304]. A pH of 7 was chosen for the synRTLF as it represents a physiological value. Based on the antioxidant’s dissociation constants one could predict that in the synRTLF at more acidic concentrations reduced glutathione would exhibit higher antioxidant depletion while in a more basic environment ascorbic acid would present higher rates. The solutions used for the exposure (Chelex treated water, synRTLF) had a pH of 7. At the end of the exposures pH test strips with a colour scaling (pH test strips; 0-14 pH, Sigma-Xxxxxxx) were immersed in each of the ‘O’ ring simport microcentrifuge tubes containing synRTLF exposed to 5mm PM disc cuts to examine any changes or equivalently in the 24 well plate containing RTLF exposed to gases. The colour of the test strips was compared with the chart on the package. The pH strips were consistently orange, which signified a pH of 7. While it is true that colorimetric pH test strips do not detect very slight changes in pH, it is highly unlikely that changes of that magnitude would influence significantly the predicted rates. The lack of any significant changes in the pH can be attributed to the presence of the antioxidants, the latter being reducing agents.

  • ESTIMATED / SPECIFIC QUANTITY CONTRACTS Estimated quantity contracts, also referred to as indefinite delivery / indefinite quantity contracts, are expressly agreed and understood to be made for only the quantities, if any, actually ordered during the Contract term. No guarantee of any quantity is implied or given. With respect to any specific quantity stated in the contract, the Commissioner reserves the right after award to order up to 20% more or less (rounded to the next highest whole number) than the specific quantities called for in the Contract.   • Power Factor Design Criteria (Reactive Power A wind generating plant shall operate within a power factor within the range of 0.95 leading to 0.95 lagging, measured at the Point of Interconnection as defined in this LGIA in order to maintain a specified voltage schedule, if the Interconnection System Impact Study shows that such a requirement is necessary to ensure safety or reliability. The power factor range standard can be met by using, for example, power electronics designed to supply this level of reactive capability (taking into account any limitations due to voltage level, real power output, etc.) or fixed and switched capacitors, or a combination of the two, if agreed to by the Participating TO and CAISO. The Interconnection Customer shall not disable power factor equipment while the wind plant is in operation. Wind plants shall also be able to provide sufficient dynamic voltage support in lieu of the power system stabilizer and automatic voltage regulation at the generator excitation system if the Interconnection System Impact Study shows this to be required for system safety or reliability.

  • Tests 7.7.1 If the Contract Documents, laws, ordinances, rules, regulations or orders of any public authority having jurisdiction require any portion of the Work to be inspected, tested or approved, the Contractor shall give the Architect timely notice of its readiness so the Architect may observe such inspection, testing or approval. The Contractor shall bear all costs of such inspections, tests or approvals conducted by public authorities.

  • API If the Software offers integration capabilities via an API, your use of the API may be subject to additional costs or Sage specific policies and terms and conditions (which shall prevail in relation to your use of the API). You may not access or use the API in any way that could cause damage to us or the Software, or in contravention of any applicable laws. We reserve the right in our sole discretion, to: (i) update any API from time to time; (ii) place limitations around your use of any API; and (iii) deny you access to any API in the event of misuse by you or to otherwise protect our legitimate interests.

  • Project Deliverables The Contractor shall provide each of the following deliverables in writing to the City for review and approval to achieve the project objectives.

  • Standard Samples Bid Specifications may indicate that the Product to be purchased must be equal to a standard sample on display in a place designated by the Commissioner and such sample will be made available to the Bidder for examination prior to the opening date. Failure by the Bidder to examine such sample shall not entitle the Bidder to any relief from the conditions imposed by the Bid Specifications.
