Common use of Road Drivers Clause in Contracts

Road Drivers. Any driver that does not get dispatched dur- ing his/her bid (day or night) can exercise his/her seniority for a load on the other dispatch. Example: A Day Driver does not get out because of a lack of dispatches. He/she can take a spot on the night dispatch, dove- tailing where his/her seniority will put him/her. Once the driver moves, he/she stays on the new shift the rest of the week. The junior driver on the shift he/she goes to is bumped to the other shift the rest of the week. The employee not getting dispatched does not have to exercise this option. He/she can hold his/her position for the next day if business permits.
