Purpose of the Collaboration. 1.1 The Partners shall collaborate in order to deliver the services and deliverables that the Parties commit to as set out under Appendix 1 (“Project”). The content of the Project may be amended by mutual written agreement between the Parties.

The purpose of the collaboration is to design, fabricate, and operate an instrument aboard the GLAST mission to study, with adequate efficiency and precision, gamma rays from space to enable the accomplishment of the proposed science program. The collaboration will undertake to carry out the science program, which is described in the flight proposal response to the NASA AO for the GLAST mission. Its primary goal is to accomplish a comprehensive study of the gamma ray sky. This wide range program provides an excellent opportunity to search for new phenomena.

The Partnership recognizes that planners play an important role in either facilitating or hindering the inclusion and improvement of informal settlements and slums, and that the education of planners has a fundamental impact on both their values and understanding, responses and practices, in relation to urban informality. The Partnership recognizes that one of the most effective ways to change the mind-sets of student planners is to offer them direct experiential exposure to, and interaction with, the conditions and residents of informal settlements and slums.
