Promotions Requiring Higher Qualifications. Consideration for promotion will be given to an applicant who does not possess the required qualifications but is preparing for qualification prior to the filling of a vacancy. If such employee is promoted, the employee will be given an opportunity to qualify within a reasonable length of time, which period shall be agreed to by the employee and the Employer in writing and the employee shall revert to the employee’s former position if the required qualifications are not met within such time or within such extension of time as is agreed upon by the employee and the Employer. A copy of the agreement between the Employer and the employee shall be sent to the Chairperson of the Local.
