Common use of PROFESSIONAL DUES AND PAYROLL DEDUCTIONS Clause in Contracts

PROFESSIONAL DUES AND PAYROLL DEDUCTIONS. Any faculty member who is a member of the Association or who has applied for membership may sign and deliver to the Faculty Association Office an appropriate written authorization requesting deduction of unified Chapter/CTA/NEA dues. Such authorization shall continue in effect from year to year unless revoked in writing between July 1 and September 1 of any year. Pursuant to such authorization, the District shall deduct one-tenth of such dues from the regular salary check of the faculty member each month for ten months beginning with the first regular salary check of the academic year. Faculty members who sign such an authorization after the commencement of the academic year shall have their dues prorated for the remainder of that academic year. With respect to all sums deducted by the District pursuant to authorization by the employee, the District agrees to remit monthly, within fifteen (15) days following the date of deduction on the member’s pay warrant, such monies to the Association’s designee accompanied by an alphabetical list of faculty members for whom such deductions have been made. The Association agrees to furnish any information needed by the District to fulfill the provisions of this Article. Upon receiving appropriate notice of written authorization from the faculty member or certificate of authorization from the Association, the District shall deduct appropriate amounts from the salary of the faculty member and make appropriate remittance to annuities, credit union accounts, savings bonds, or any other plans or programs approved by the Association and the District. 829 830 831 832 11.1. 833 834 835 836 837 838 839 840 11.2. 841 842 843 11.3. 844 845 846 847 848 849 11.4. 850 851 852 11.5. 853 854 855 856 857 858 859 860 861 862 863 864 865 866 867 868 869 870 871 872 873 874 875 ARTICLE XII 876 BOARD POLICIES 877 878 In the event the District desires to change a Board Policy which affects a term or condition of 879 employment, as defined by Government Code Section 3543.2, the District will, prior to making 880 such a change, notify the Association of the proposed change, and provide it with a reasonable 881 opportunity to negotiate the change, to the extent such change is within the scope of 882 representation. 883 884 885 886 887 888 889 890 891 892 893 894 895 896 897 898 899 900 901 902 903 904 905 906 907 908 909 910 911 912 913 914 915 916 917 918 919 920
