Professional Development Committees. 1. The Leavenworth USD #453 Professional Development Committee shall establish a District PDC In-service Education Plan that shall meet the professional development needs of teachers. This plan shall comply with all the regulations of the State Plan for In-service Education KAR 91-1-215 through 219 as adopted by the Kansas State Board of Education. 2. A Professional Development Council (PDC) shall be established in accordance with State Board regulations. The Association (LNEA) shall appoint one member to the District PDC. 3. The PDCs at the district and building levels shall ensure that teachers’ professional development needs identified through the Quality Performance Accreditation, Results Based Staff Development, and the Elementary and Secondary Education Act mandates are met. Teachers’ professional development needs shall be assessed annually or more frequently, if appropriate.
