Common use of Primary Salary Coverage Clause in Contracts

Primary Salary Coverage. In the event an employee is absent due to a service-connected disability, injury, and/or illness which has been verified by the Department’s Worker's Compensation Program and the benefits paid to such employee under the provision of the Department’s Worker's Compensation Program do not equal the employee's gross salary, the Department shall pay to the employee an amount equal to the difference between the compensation received under Worker's Compensation and the employee's then present base salary, excluding overtime. This compensation will continue for a period of 800 work hours from the first day of absence.
