Common use of President, ONA Clause in Contracts

President, ONA. Upon application in writing by the Union to the Employer on behalf of a nurse, a leave of absence shall be granted to a nurse elected to the Office of President of the Ontario Nurses' Association for the duration of her/his term. During the leave of absence the nurse's salary and applicable benefits shall be maintained by the Employer and the Union agrees to reimburse the Employer in the full cost of such salary and applicable benefits. It is understood, however, that during such leave the nurse shall be deemed to be an employee of the Ontario Nurses' Association. The nurse agrees to notify the employer of her/his intention to return to work at least four (4) weeks prior to the date of return.
