President, ONA. Upon application, in writing, by the Union on behalf of the Nurse to the Employer, a leave of absence shall be granted to such Nurse elected to the office of President of the Ontario Nurses’ Association. The Nurse shall continue to accrue seniority and service during their absence. During such leave of absence, the Nurse's salary and applicable benefits shall be maintained by the Employer, and the Union agrees to reimburse the Employer the amount of the full cost of such salary and applicable benefits. The Nurse agrees to notify the Employer of their intention to return to work at least two weeks prior to the date of return.

During such leave of absence, salary and benefits or pay in lieu of benefits will be kept whole by the Employer and the Union agrees to reimburse the Employer for such gross salary and Employer contributions to benefits or pay in lieu of benefits. Notwithstanding the above, the Employer and the Union may make alternate arrangements in respect to salary and benefit continuation.
