Preliminary Action and Counselling. 41.1.1 Where a supervisor is of the view that the employee's performance is unsatisfactory, the supervisor and employee shall attempt to resolve the performance concerns through a counselling process. A performance improvement plan, which may include support, training and development programs, and a reasonable timeframe, as developed in consultation with the employee at the time of discussion, will be provided to the employee to support improvement in the employee’s performance.
