Pregnancy and Child-Rearing Leaves. 11.3.1 Unit members are entitled to use sick leave as set forth in this Article for disabilities caused or contributed to by pregnancy, miscarriage, childbirth, and recovery therefrom, and shall be limited to those disabilities as set forth above. The length of such disability leave, including the date on which the leave shall commence and the date on which the duties are to be resumed, shall be determined by the employee and the employee's physician.

  • Pregnancy and Parental Leaves (a) Pregnancy and Parental Leaves shall be granted in accordance with the Employment Standards Act.

  • Child Rearing Leave 7.9.1 A permanent employee, who is the natural or adoptive parent of a child, shall be entitled to an unpaid leave of absence for the purpose of rearing his/her child for a specified period immediately after convalescence from maternity or immediately after completion of appropriate adoption papers. Such leave shall be for a maximum period of nine (9) months and shall be granted upon giving the District at least four (4) weeks notice prior to the anticipated date on which the leave is to commence.
