Common use of Part-time Non-Benefited Clause in Contracts

Part-time Non-Benefited. Workers A part-time non-benefited employee is one who is hired to work a schedule of less than twenty (20) hours per work week. Part-time non-benefited employees are not eligible to participate in Agency benefit programs. Part-time non-benefited employees are included in the bargaining unit and are allowed to participate in Union meetings, activities and/or be union stewards. Part-time employees who are elected stewards will not engage in stewardship during their scheduled work time. Part-time non-benefited employees who accept a temporary full-time or part-time position (i.e. under Section 12.4 of this Article) will retain their bargaining unit status and will continue to accrue seniority in their former classification. They will revert to part-time non-benefited status upon completion of their assignment or upon reaching the 180 day limit. Part time non-benefited employees will not be used to permanently replace regular full-time or part-time employees.
