Out of Classification Work. An Employee who is required to work out of classification covering a position assigned a higher classification shall be compensated at the rate of twenty percent (20%) more than the employee’s current hourly rate of pay. The higher classification pay rate is for covering vacancies and long-term illness, not for vacation coverage. In order to be eligible for this pay an employee must work ten (10) consecutive workdays. Higher pay shall be retroactive to the first day of assumption of duties.
