Short-term Assignment. An assignment of up to one (1) year to perform work in response to emergency or unplanned needs such as peak workload, special project, or other short-term work that does not recur and does not continue from year to year.
Short-term Assignment. When it becomes necessary for the EMPLOYER to utilize an EMPLOYEE above his regularly assigned Labor Grade for a period of less than thirty (30) calendar days, the selected EMPLOYEE shall be on the Battalion where the vacancy occurs and shall: If available, be the highest positioned EMPLOYEE on the applicable promotional roster. Promotional rosters shall be used wherever practicable, even though they are beyond their expiration dates, in making selections for out of classification assignments. 1. Shifts highest positioned mentored employee on Battalion Chief promotional roster.

Short-term Assignment. The District agrees to consider for any short term assignment any permanent classified employee whose most recent overall performance evaluation is good or better. The classified employee must meet the qualification requirements for the short term assignment. Short term assignments shall be posted five (5) working days in advance, if the opening is known at that time. An employee who is not selected may request a written statement of the reason within five (5) working days.
