Lower Class Bump the least senior employee in a lower class (or class option) in which the employee previously served (or another class option within that class for which the employee is determined to be qualified by the Employer) more than thirty-five (35) miles of the employee's current work location (employee must be position-qualified if Unit 6).
Class Sizes In the annual assignment of duties, the designated supervisor shall consult with the department in determining appropriate class sizes for individual courses. In making such a determination, the designated supervisor shall consider operational requirements, sound pedagogical principles, and the workload implication of teaching such courses (also see Letter of Understanding #3).

Return to Former Class An employee who is returned to a former class following promotion, transfer, or demotion due to layoff, shall receive that step of the range which he or she would have received had he or she never left the former class.
Work in Higher Classification Employees working in a higher classification for more than four (4) hours in duration shall be paid at the higher rate of pay for the entire shift.
APPOINTMENT IN A HIGHER CLASS 187. An employee or officer who is a permanent appointee following completion of the probationary period or six months of permanent service, and who is appointed to a position in a higher classification, either permanent or temporary, deemed to be promotive by the Department of Human Resources shall have his/her salary adjusted to that step in the promotive class as follows:

SPECIALIZED JOB CLASSES Where there is a particular specialized job class in which the pay rate is below the local market value assessment of that job class, the parties may use existing means under the collective agreement to adjust compensation for that job class.
