Only the Management Command Officers of the Department. have the authority to direct an employee to standby duty. When an employee is directed to standby duty, the employee shall receive one (1) hour of straight time pay for eight (8) hours of standby duty or any fraction thereof that occurs between regularly assigned duty shifts. Any standby assignments occurring on the employee's regularly scheduled days off will be compensated at two (2) hours straight time pay for each eight (8) hours of standby duty or any fraction thereof.
