Miscarriage, Termination, Still-birth and Death of a Baby. If the baby dies or is still-born after 24 weeks’ pregnancy the maternity scheme applies. Where this occurs before 24 weeks (miscarriage) or there is a termination authorities should give sympathetic consideration to the circumstances and where necessary grant special leave or sick leave, as appropriate on the basis of the individual circumstances. The decision should be based on the needs of the employee and medical opinion.

  • Family Death Leave a. The County shall authorize family death leave with pay, for a regular employee, when needed, due to the death of his/her:

  • Parental and Pregnancy Disability Leave A. Parental leave will be granted to the employee for the purpose of bonding with their newborn, adoptive or xxxxxx child. Parental leave may extend up to six (6) months, including time covered by the family medical leave, during the first year after the child's birth or placement.
